Alan Wilson Watts was a British philosopher, writer, speaker, and student of comparative religion. He was best known as an interpreter and popularizer of Asian philosophies for a Western audience.

He wrote more than 25 books and numerous articles on subjects such as personal identity, the true nature of reality, higher consciousness, meaning of life, concepts and images of God and the non-material pursuit of happiness. In his books he relates his experience to scientific knowledge and to the teachings of Eastern and Western religion and philosophy.

  • Alan Watts says in an hour what I've been trying to think and put together my whole life.

  • @Ramohog it's so sad that so many people are so gullible and uneducated.

i admire your persistence, though it is quite sad to see how blind you are.

a good thing in a way, kind of an innocence, a veil to all the hurt and suffering out there in the world.

You seem like an intelligent man,it's a shame that you have wasted your years in a bunch of lies that have been manifested to oppress the weak and uneducated.

  • @madtownstu He is saying that it is in the best interest of your country to be critical towards it. You do this by not thinking of your country as being the best country in the world, but by taking the time to figure out what it's flaws are so your country can improve upon them.

Watts is using this anology to explain that you should not think that jesus is the "best" prophet. You can be loyal to him or his religion, but it is in the religions best intrest to be critical about its own ways.

  • Please someone paraphrase/explain 6:06 - 6:30 . Is he saying, we help out without being critical..? I didn't get that part. Thanks

  • I think Ramhog was at my keg party!

  • @psychedellic420 I don't shun the rest of the world. I take everything in consideration and come to the right conclusion, based on solid research and evidence. I suggest you do the same!

  • @psyc Taoism is all about astrology, alchemy, meditation veneration of celestial masters, ancestor spirits. All strictly forbidden by God because it is satanic and deceptive to the core, and derives from fallen angelic spirits with it's roots in ancient Sumeria, which is the counterfit to the authentic, revealed in God's Word as a more sure Word of prophecy, so we might know the truth and not be deceived. Truth always works, deception and false worship fails and we have a history to learn from!

  • @psychedellic420 Relative truth is an absolute lie. Alan Watts is a deceiver being deceived himself and void of understanding in regards to spiritual things, all based on philosophy and vain deceit after wordly wisdom, which is foolishness unto God. You are eating from the wrong tree and will lead to spiritual death if you don't repent and get filled with the Spirit of power, love, wisdom and comfort. In all your getting, get understanding!

  • Yes it would be rather stupid to do that if I would not have done the research. I have studied comparative religion the cults and the occult in relation to history. I have also travelled around the world extensively. The Bible is not open to private interpretations because it alwys explains itself as the foundation of truth. It exposes all deception resulting in the curse and reveals relationship with God and other resulting in the blessing. We have a history to see this in action as prophesied!

  • @psychedellic42 Well Jesus was God in the flesh prophesied to the day, and everything against His Words have already been proven to fail. Opposites can't both be right. You are just being politically correct with your religious pluralism for the simple reason that you have not studied it out. You probably came out of religion which is good, but you clearly have no clue on how to test the spirits whether they are from God or not, which makes you susceptible for spiritual deception. Gotta wake up!

  • @psychedellic420 So why did you reject Jesus? You clearly never got born again through impartation of God's Spirit. You may have been part of a warped religious system, so you've exchanged one lie for another. Deception is a very subtle thing which you clearly are unable to discern. You have either bought the lie or don't like to be held accountable, what caused you to reject the truth?
