  • I didn't notice the date at first, hopefully by now you found the problems.

    It sounds pretty good actually, not missing a beat.

    If the valve adjust doesn't cure the issue for noise, a new oil pump should.

    An oil pressure gauge would prove the issue.

    Looks like it has 258K on the engine, and oil pressure is more than likely low.

  • 7a. If one is bright, that's the cylinder leaking coolant.

    8. Do the simple steps first, then progress to deeper ones.

    9. That's a slick program on the laptop.

    10. When you showed lower portion of radiator was cool when it should be hot, coolant is not flowing.

    Thermostat is culprit. Remove it for now to test engine again.

    But never drive w/o one.

  • 3. I'd pull the water pump to check the impeller, possible damage & not circulating coolant.

    4. Check the thermostat.

    Make sure it installed correctly and test it in pan on the stove with thermometer when it first starts to open.

    5. Pressure test radiator with tool that adds air pressure to system.

    Some auto stores let you borrow the tool.

    6. In some cases, a radiator hose can collapse internally blocking coolant, but rare.

    7. Pull the spark plugs.

    One by one, see if one is bright clean.

  • 1. At 0:37, I finally saw the water pump running, it was hard to tell at first.

    2. Coolant temp, 2:43, 185 then 200, water pump simply forced hotter water past the sensor. Going over 220, at 3:32, good case of blown head-gasket, plus mayo is water/oil mix.

    2a. Leaks can go 2 ways at head gasket.

    Combustion leaks into water port, forcing water out of the way creating hot spot.

    2b. Water & oil drain back ports have narrow web of head gasket keeping it separate, if damaged, water enters oil.
