Overview
The most successful fighter of WWII, the P-51D Mustang still thrills thousands today in air shows and air races around the world. Now anyone with a DSM2™ aircraft system can experience Mustang thrills on a smaller scale with this fully-aerobatic, brushless-powered Bind-N-Fly™ reproduction from ParkZone. And getting it airborne is about as simple as it gets. Just attach the wing and tail, charge the battery, bind the receiver to your full range DSM2 transmitter and you're flying.

Victory rolls, Cuban-8s, Immelmans—ParkZone's P-51D can do them all thanks to its powerful 480 brushless outrunner motor and semi-symmetrical airfoil. The paint scheme and decals are an authentic reproduction of the actual markings from "Gun Fighter," a P-51D that regularly flies in airshows around the country. You even have the option of adding a 4th rudder channel for extra maneuverability (requires an additional servo, sold separately).

Needed to Complete
The transmitter you select must be a DSM2 full range (high power) Tx. The following is a list of some of the DSM2-equipped transmitters that are appropriate for the P-51D Mustang:

Spektrum DX5e
Spektrum DX6i
Spektrum DX7
JR X9303 2.4
JR 12X 2.4
E-flite HP6DSM

All Spektrum aircraft modules are also compatible.

  • Dear Erick, thanks for all your reviews and videos! Among others, I have seen both your P-51 review (this) and the Stinson RD-10 review. I know these are two relatively different planes - in fact the Stinson is probably more similar to the T-28 than the P-51. But, if you had to compare the Stinson to the P-51 in terms of "most fun" (ignoring pricing or the fact that you have to install the rudder servo in the P-51), which would you choose? I'm really intrested in your comment, thanks in advance!

  • @intillactapac Both planes are appealing to me for different reasons, but if sport flying is what you are looking for then choose the P-51.

  • You finally got a P-51D BL! It is a great plane! Maybe we can do some formation flying with them :)

  • @earthling1984 Sounds like a plan to me. I look forward to it.

  • Great video. Nice flying. (Especially the inverted footage!)

  • @DrDave1911 It's a pleasure to hear from a fellow RC'er such as yourself. Thanks for watching.

  • DANG! Did you see Eric catch his plane mid air at 7:45? That was cool! (But not as cool as seeing Chuck Norris catch a real P-51 the same way!)

  • Thumbs up if you think ParkZone should add optional landing gear!

  • nice ...i need good dependable P-51

the AirField crap i got from NitroPlanes won't fly worth a $*&@

  • @Austinscool12

I'm with you, it would make a big difference and the plane would look cool.

  • How long does the battery last? Is it good or rubbish?

  • Wow!!.... Cool catch dude!... I gota subscribe now!!..

  • really hate the foam in the elevator. shoudent ParkZone know the elevator will probably be the first to break since the foam in it is very brittle? already had to make two new elevator already. but despite that, this is a beautiful warbird and flies not too bad. just keep an eye on that elevator. Peace

  • Hey Eric, I have a question concerning the performance of the wildcat vs the performance of the p51. I was just wondering which one has the most power and is more aerobatic. I am experienced as a pilot so don't worry about skill level. Thanks and awesome videos!

  • who needs a rudder? bank and yank!!!!

  • i love the planes it just ticks me off when they leave out the rudder
