It's actually an effective way to research, because the whales can't run away if you research them like this... and seriously... if the numbers are decreasing, we need to kill more to find out why.

lol Whale hunting propaganda. I never understood this. Norway and other european nations hunt whales, yet you never hear anything about them. But when bad ol' mr.ethnic comes along and does it, they're evil. Give me a break.

Norway and Iceland do not claim their whaling is for scientific purposes. Norway takes around 500 whales a year, Iceland 30, Japan almost 1000. Japan still kills endangered species.
