  • Dear Sirs: After spending a number of years in the Philippines where there are almost eighty different dialects; a Third-World-Country, and yet, America a first-rate country that so many others try to emulate seems to be going in the direction of the third-world. Mail from a county office is preceded by a list of languages from other countries. When the great European migration occurred in the early 1900's the immigrants were required to learn American English. Why are we going backwards?

  • NCLB is a crock. The Department of Education should be abolished. We need school vouchers and free market solutions, not dumb-downed monopolistic government run schools. Do the Democrats support school choice or are they in bed with school unions at the expense of the children?
