商業電台、《江商晚報》、《亞洲畫報》聯合舉辦 1961 年十大最受歡迎國, 粵語片獲選影片之一.

Following the phenomenal response to the comedy excerpt 'The North-South Union' of the musical entitled 'Blossoms Ushering in the Spring' penned by Stephen Soong and staged by MP & GI in response to the 1958 famine campaign, MP & GI decided to adapt the play for the screen.
Voted one of the ten most popular Cantonese and Mandarin films of 1961.
