I hope this generic metal test is helpful for some people. I think the Blackstar HT1 R is a great recording amp, especially when hooked up to a good cab. In this clip the rhythm tones are slightly boosted with a Tubescreamer clone (Route 66). The gain and volume on the amp were around 12 o clock, and the ISF was around 1 o clock for rhythms and 9 o clock for leads, with no tubescreamer. Some reverb and delay was added to the solo in Logic 9. Guitars are double tracked, one per side.

Signal Chain:

GIbson Les Paul Traditional Pro (using daddario 10s, everything is stock)
ISP Decimator
Visual Sound Route 66 (Overdrive mode used on rhythm tone, not used on solo - drive off, bass boost off, tone 12 o clock volume 1 o clock)
Blackstar HT1 R Combo
Mesa Rectifier 2x12 Cabinet (Celestion Vintage 30s)
Shure SM 57 on axis just a bit to the side of the cone
Line 6 UX2

Drums are Superior Drummer Metal Foundry, using a modified Andy Sneap Preset

Bass is a Peavey Cirrus BXP 5 string, mixed using logic 9 plugins.

Recorded in Logic 9
