The version you see before you is an edited down version of the different stages in the construction of "Do They Know It's Christmas?"
Bob Geldof asked for help from English and American bands to lend a hand to record music for the single (of course on their own dime).
Here you can see various British bands that came to help...The only American groups answering the call were 'Kool & The Gang' and 'Jody Watley'
Recording commenced on November 25th 1984, then released, November
29th.

    For those of you watching this and saying "Who are these people", they are some of the talented musicians are from the 1980's, the greatest time in music, not the crap that is on the radio nowadays. I remember when this was originally released, but have never seen this version, so thanks for uploading this.

    I couldn't said it better myself. Listening to them with hardly any backing you realise what great voices they all have. I remember this song coming out when I was 12. I miss the 80's. I could buy a game for my speccy for 99p, now a game for a ps3 costs anything up to £50, what a rip off.
