This is so important that voices like yours are shared around the world with policymakers to address these issues of conflict. Hope you will post this on Conflict Convo.
Actually, Burma is rich in oil and natural gas. Currently China, India and Thaland are the main recipients of Burmas natural resources. It is these countries that could easily have an affect on reform in Burma.
Nobody looks at things from a neutral persective these days, perhaps it is unwise to protest in a situation where you know you will be harmed, other nearby nations should be complelled to encourage refuges who are displeased by the local system.
Where there is an interfere from the U.S.A, there will be a lot of blood and death. When the U.S.A interfere in Iraq, thousands of ordinary Iraqi died for no reason. When the U.S.A interfere in Burma, it is certain that thousands of ordinary Burmese will die for the Western Politicans. Nowaday the fact there is the U.S GI, there will be blood and death of thousands. In Iraq, half million of ordinary Iraqi were killed by the U.S gunfire.
