  • Yes, I agree totally. Actually there was a proposal for a Geary Subway one time but it died for financial reasons.

  • But SF has Muni metro, the F Market Streetcar Line, the cable car system, trolleybuses, AND BART.

  • @cubdukat CTA>Muni in transit:

You don't need a car in SF because it's a small city compared to Chi-town. SF doesn't have these transit cards that you could use on Els and buses. Plus Muni's speed is 8 miles an hour. Don't take MUNI if you don't have a car. You know what's also the pain in the ass? These trains are light rails that act like subway trains and also go on the street and don't have those crossings like in the Brown line. I lived in SF for 2 years, now I live in Chicago.

  • Woot to NYC subways. They are the best in the country. Literaly.

  • @cubdukat: San Francisco's MUNI sucks. Their fucking "subway trains" are coupled up streetcars and they don't run them long enough so that you can never get onto a packed train during rush hour!

  • I love your guys' transit system. Chicago could definitely learn a couple things from them...

  • There is a proposal for a BART extension through Geary, but I expect my far yet to be born descendants to be among the first to use it.

  • If they built subway lines under Geary and Van Ness then San Francisco would finally have a world class public transit system.

  • lol
