My friend Kirk Beck came to our mountain home to help test some new car care products on Saturday, February 28,2009. We tested about 25 new products, and as always, Kirk was incredibly helpful. I filmed him using our new Green Wheel Cleaner, and a special new wheel cleaning tool, designed to clean the back of the wheels easily, when attached to a cordless drill.

We also tested a new 4" buffing pad system, designed for scratch removal, hazy headlamp repair, and for correcting seriously scuffed finishes. We tested these products on his, "Sacrificial Prius," which was his company car. He had a severe scratch, and many many scratches behind the door handles, fingernail style.

Three days later, Wednesday, March 3, Kirk went missing. There was panic throughout the forums that he frequented, and in our friend group especially.

Kirk was found dead the following day in one of the buildings that he was responsible for. Kirk is survived by his son, Adam, wife Cindy, brother Eric, and both of his parents.

At his services on Thursday, the venue was overflowing with friends, co-workers, family and friends. Kirk was known for his integrity, kindness, selflessness, intelligence, and desire to do things right.

He was a very good friend, and I miss him terribly. Thanks to Tom Steen and Jody Tipton for introducing us, as I'm a better person for having known Kirk Beck.

We are going to release this new wheel cleaning tool, and call it the 'KB Powerstick.' in honor of Kirk Beck.

  • I worked for Kirk at eBS, and still think about him all the time while I work in his old office. On the anniversary of his passing, it was nice to hear his voice. Thanks :)

  • Sorry to hear about you adam. He sounds like a great person.
