Samadhi Hawaii's artists danced in the air, on ribbons of silk, while Makana painted the night with his soothing voice and slack key guitar.
It was a treat to watch these local artists perform at the Hawaii State Art Museum's monthly event, Live on the Lawn. Unfortunately my cheap camcorder and amateur skills did not do these artists justice. None the less, the talent of this particular dancer (Chandra Miars) is still apparent. She remains ever graceful, while her strong yet supple muscles carry her into the air (watch her wrists and hands). She doesn't rush; she doesn't tremble; she doesn't twirl out of control. Chandra must breathe like a new born child.
Dancing to Makana's flowing music, they made a lovely couple.
Of course Samadhi Hawaii has many other talented performers (Director Andrea Torres, Jamie Nakama, Nicole Young, and more). Unfortunately I was only able to videotape this one performance with any "quality". Near the beginning of the clip I increased the exposure a notch, not realizing the camera would increase its gain (hence the extra noise). Towards the end I changed the white balance. There was also camera shake because I had image stabilization turned off. In hindsight I should have left everything alone. If I practice as much as these artists, perhaps I might one day be worthy of recording their craft.

"Aloha!
Wow! Thank you so much for your video and words! It makes me so filled with joy to think that our performance was well recieved and touched the audience, that it was enjoyed and even possibly evoked emotion in those who were there that night. I am so glad you and your family had a good time, how lucky I am to have a video of my piece! I sent it to Makana and he thought it was really cool. The song I performed to that night is Ku'u Lei Awapuhi, a love song about the misty rain and the awapuhi ginger flowers and they call out to eachother, where are you my love? I hope you all will come out to our next Samadhi performance, check out our website for info.
Many thanks, take care,
Chandra"

Thanks to VirtualDub and DeShaker, I was able to remove most of the camera shake from my original video. The link to the new video can be found at the bottom of this video's description.
Yay for free software!

Thanks for the comment, Hanalei Guy. I totally agree with you. I was very lucky to have had a chance to watch Samadhi and Makana. That night was the first time I got to see any of them perform. I hope to see them collaborate again.
