Been a while since I played to any music on this channel. This is an unexpected video that I decided to do on the fly while jamming in the garage.

Also this is the first vid with my new kit. A Yamaha Stage Custom Birch. I'm planning on doing a vid on it soon just for fun.

Quick and dirty recording specs:
2 Samson C02 miss in the recorder man configuration and a Shure Beta 52A on the kick. Both mics go into my tascam us-1641 and then into Logic then mixing and plugins blah blah blah.

  • great vid! i really like your playing and the tune. I saw your post about your new kit over at drummerworld, im interested in getting the same one, with the 20inch kick. maybe you could do a review? cant wait to see more vids also! one last question: where did you order the kit from? i cant seem to find it anywhere with the 20 inch kick

  • @Pearlsrxk I'd like to do a review of the kit soon. One weekend perhaps when I have the house to my self. But I can say that I absolutely love the kit. It tunes easy and sounds beautiful at all volumes.

I also noticed that they are sold out at most places right now, which is odd, since since Yamaha just came out with two new finishes for the same kit. I picked mine up from my local guitar center. Up until then the 20" kick model was a common kit on the floor there.

  • You sir. Are a very defined drummer and percussionist. Is that the Paiste 18" twenty in this video and how're you liking it? On a side-note those are some serious chops you got going on (on your face)

  • @WILDfarfetchd The Paiste 18" is very dark and powerful. I tend to use it as mini ride a lot too. I used to have a Paiste Twenty 16" too which was my favorite but I cracked it, unfortunately. And yes, the chops are serious business. :)

  • Love the sound of that ride next to your china. What kind of cymbal is that?

  • @gshuda22 It's a Paiste Traditional Medium Heavy Ride 20"
