ATV 1.1 with Safari HD

Quick video of my ATV running 1.1 safe update with Brandon Hollands Safari HD.

UPDATE!! This video was and is posted from 2008...Long before ATV flash was ever around. ATV flash took all the knowledge from ATV hacks and put it into a product for sale. Couch surfer is Brandon Hollands Sarfari HD renamed.

To get this working you actually had to hack your apple TV rather than sticking a USB stick into it.

Benefits to doing the hacking your self you have control, where as ATV Flash you have less control. I can add my own programs as i like. ATV flash is a great product with current software.

for anyone wondering how to do this. it is not easy. You have to learn terminal and you will spend many hours learning how to do this. I have also got a current firefox with flash to work. Learn from awkward tv, atv hacks, and then trial and error. Good luck.

@pavao123 if you didn't see this video is 2 years old... atv flash has a current version that also will work with a touch or iphone.

Awesome hack, but I'll rather use my Wii for web browsing in my TV than my Apple TV.

Even if the picture is way better with the Apple TV, the Wiimote is better and faster than the remote.

hey i agree, but for those of us who don't have a wii, this is awesome. There are also hacks out there that allow a Wii remote to work with the ATV, which would be awesome. I haven't got that to work yet but i am working on that, and bluetooth.

@njdnjdnjd I sure know about it, I've got the app on my iphone. That does not change the fact that the control is a crap thing, and still there's no Safari for it.
