James Kalm joins the celebration of Robert Indianas eightieth birthday by bringing viewers this preview of Hared Edge. Since his emergence as one of the most unique of the Pop artists, Indiana has utilized language, letter and number forms in works that co-mingled the linguistic with the visual. These metal sculptures (many in process for decades) bring the visual punch and instantly recognizable style of Indianas painting into the third dimension. Featuring an interview with sculptor Charles Seplowin.

  • it's hard not seeing these as corporate 'symbols', the vernacular has been absorbed fully....in corporate signage and scale. I know he's eighty, he came first, but did he? thanks for a show i probably wouldn't see:)
