I had the pleasure of assisting to a performance of Orfeo at the ENO 2005 with John Mark Ainsley performing the title role. His job was one of the most stunning things I've ever seen on a theatre. Absolutely wonderful. The best Orfeo nowdays soooo far.

John Mark Ainsley is more than great in the role of Orfeo. It is a pitty that his 3rd act aria Possente Spirito (from this same production) is not yet in YouTube. That is one of the most moving performances I have ever listened at.
