Also, when the third version of Jelinda's Theme debuted in 1995, the theme was "resynched" with the animation.
This version seems slightly "off", in terms of the relationship to the audio and the video.
Compare this clip to "As the World Turns 1993-1999 Opening", and you'll see that the A turns a few seconds "later" in this one.

A ten-second version of the theme *and* a 15-second version (for sponsor tags) that both debuted in the spring/summer of 1995. The 15-second version was discontinued in 1997, when ATWT added a short segment between the opening sequence and the first commercial break.
I would guess that the third version of Jelinda's Theme debuted at the same time as the shorter openings
See "As the World Turns - opening 1993-1999 (short)" and "As the World Turns - February 1, 1996 - #1".

This clip (of the the third version) omits the very beginning of the theme, which has a slightly more pronounced "crashing cymbal" effect than the second one. The second one, in turn, has a "harsher" sound at the beginning than the first one.
Compare "As the World Turns open - February 5, 1993" to "As the World Turns 1993-1999 Opening" and "As the World Turns open - May 29, 1997."
At the very least, you' should hear that the three versions sound slightly different at the beginning.

There were actually three (very similar) recordings of the opening version of Jelinda's Theme.
The first one debuted on February 3, 1993, and was used for a couple of weeks.
The second one was used from March or April 1993 to the spring/summer of 1995.
The third one was used from the spring/summer of 1995 to October 29, 1999.

Yes. This opening debuted on Feb. 3, 1993. You are correct.
i think this is the most breathtaking theme song in soap history.

@ncjuppiter unless my ears deceive me, this is an all-keyboard arrangement....

Wow, I'm making a lot of typos today.
I've been told that I'm crazy for thinking that there's more than one version, but I maintain that there are three separate versions. I've even considered posting a clip of all three.

@0814ma the 'versions' i remember are the one i posted, and the two that came around the O.J. trial, when ATWT and GL started using abbreviated openings because of the time the 'updates' took..at one point, GL started running out of time when rolling closing credits and CBS would cut to the daily CBS Newsbreak..i believe the last two versions, one short, and the other 'full length' were borne out of these O.J. updates...
