I know it was never called an Escort but everyone knows it was in the same line as the other RS Escorts and was both preceded and succeeded by Escorts. Actually i suspect that the only reason why they didn't give it a real name was because it was only ever available to the public for homologation purposes, but if it were more mass produced i'm pretty sure they would have slapped the Escort badge on it.
