@Dolly: Interesting point, but no doubt a modern audience would be confused if the sizes mentioned in the scene were accurate for 1962. This is one of those situations where, no matter what gets written, the writer gets called an idiot.

I've only just spotted a goof in this scene after all these years....Mr Pinky says his plus sized clothes are 'available in size 12 to 26. In 1962, a size 12 was anything BUT plus sized. A 1962 size '12' had a 32 inch bust, a 25 inch waist, and a 34 inch hip measurement. In other words, a modern dress size 4, pant size 00-0.
