This may not have been absolute perfection a la Yes 1974, but seeing as this is my favorite Yessong of all time, I think they did a pretty bang-up job with it...Benoit's vocals pretty much nailed it, especially during the final passage. Just wish Oliver could have used some mellotron...that would have added a lot. Overall, though, this is great.

Lets be realistic - these guys arent getting any younger.
They all led fairly crazy rockstar lives, and health suffers as you get older.
Jon Anderson is a one off, but, if reports are to be believed, his health is frail, certainly not upto the punnishing schedule of a tour.
Why are Howe, Squire and White doing it?...pension pot of course.
I cant say I blame them.
Benoit David sounds very like John Anderson and if you want to see Yes live, I would take the chance now.

Benoit is not Jon but he can sing. Check him as lead singer of Mystery (Behind the Vale). This vid has some audio artifacts and recording snags but captures most of a great Jon Anderson melody. Reminds one but does not reproduce...it is live. Benoit really has the range if not the character to do these songs.

that was outstanding! These guy's are amazing! That show must have been sweet!

Thanks for posting this. I saw them twice on this tour. CTTE was the highlight of the show. When they got to the end and are singing "...now that your WHOLE" he hit that high note just right. I miss Jon but it was very impressive to me.

Kind of interesting to watch, Some people here are a bit critical though. I think YES peaked after the Relayer album anyway, so what ever gets feed to us in lou of Anderson not being around is gravy.

Right with you there safulop...
Benoit "nails" the songs (OW he just struggled with THAT note) where he has Jon's prior work to study...let's see what happens with any original work
Steve was a little sloppy tonight...are the standards slipping?
-
Yeah, he sounds a lot like Jon, only without the excellent pitch, beautiful vocal "placement" (as voice teachers call it), powerful alto highs, or fabulous phrasing.
That's why he's the "understudy."

May be you are dull, may be you don't like the Yes history and you like only the Benoit history. Benoit don't has feeling, voice, imagination, He only makes notes. God save John!!!
