Wildrose Alliance candidate Paul Hinman scored a major upset in Monday's provincial byelection in Calgary-Glenmore, narrowly defeating his Liberal opponent while Premier Ed Stelmach's Conservatives finished a distant third in a riding that's voted Tory for four decades.
Hinman said he entered the race with victory in mind and proclaimed the Wildrose Alliance performance in the byelection should send Stelmach a message. But the candidates still appear split whether the government received a message Monday.
