  • What other apps do you use in that way? I wonder if i could work in Sony Vegas or programs like that in this conditions.

  • Grow up kid and stop comparing your rig-penis with other people.

  • y6767 obviously doesn't know what he's talking about. Flaming an OS in that fashion does not make you look savvy, it makes you LOOK LIKE A LOSER.

siralphred, this is an impressive display of CS2's performance in VB, what are your demo PC's specs? This information is very helpful in gauging how it would perform on other machines. In fact, it's kinda bad that you left that out.

  • hmm i'll have to try semliss i dont have VB setup in my ubuntu right now i'm happy with wine for what windows apps i do run wich is basickly my text to speach clipboard reader since i dont like the orca config and kspeek is to primitive.

can vb see and use your pci hardware?

    how about your videcoard?

  • This isn't virtualbox's seamless mode. With virtualbox's seamless mode you actually get the windows alongside your linux ones, much the same as paralels. This new functionality came along in version 1.5 I think.

  • Someone never told you that Maya is also available for Linux I assume. I also assume that if you have Maya, you are either A.) loaded (or mommy bought it for you) or B.) a pirate.

And why do Windows fanboys have to drag Crysis into every argument now? Does Crysis run in opengl? No. Is Crysis great? No. It's bloated and seems to only have one good aspect, physics. The gameplay is standard in many shooters today. Get Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, better game. Call of Duty 4 > World in Conflict.

  • the speed seems to be usable.

    what is ur PC's specs?

I am running Xubuntu Gutsy and I am shifting many of my computer tasks over from the XP side. If this vbox solution works out, I will probably run Xubuntu exclusively.

  • whats the name of the skin youve got on xp? i love the background too...

as far as running xp inside ubuntu, id like to leave it permanently running. im imagining having office 2007 and cs3 on the xp virtualbox, and outlook always on for mail... but does it cut the system speed in half?
