Sea Shepherd's シー・シェパードが新たな攻撃

環境保護を標榜（ひょうぼう）する米団体「シー・シェパード」（ＳＳ）の抗議船が日本の調査捕鯨船団へ妨害活動を繰り返している問題で、水産庁は６日、ＳＳの抗議船が再び­日本船団に妨害活動を行い、捕鯨船「第３勇新丸」と接触したと発表した。船体に大きな損傷はなく、乗組員にもけがはなかった。
ボ号が第３勇新丸に対し、有害な液体の入ったビンを投げつけるために急接近。第３勇新丸は回避行動をとったが、その際、船尾に接触されていたことが判明した。第３勇新丸は­手すりが曲がった程度で、けが人はなかった。
　その後もボ号は日本船団に多数のビンを投擲（とうてき）。日本鯨類研究所によると、ビンの大半は海に落ちたが、第２昭南丸の甲板には１０個程度のビンが投げ込まれたという­。
