One of the more interesting and unique Second World War air raid shelters in Plymouth with an upstairs!! linked by stairs and handrail. Early 1800s?? tunnels cut in limestone were converted into air raid shelters, then in the 1940s, poured concrete trenches were "spliced" into these existing much earlier works. Posters, dated 1941, still hang on the wall!

Excellent yet again. As someone brought up in Plymouth in the 1950's and who went to a primary school surrounded by bombed sites (great playgrounds!) this video jogged a few more memories
