Touching Egypt's treasures

The Egyptian Museum has created a special tour program for the blind so they can experience the treasures of Ancient Egypt housed in the museum in Cairo.

I don't think it is a good idea to touch ancient irreplaceable artifact with un-gloved hands. What exactly is the Cairo Museum curator thinking. People hands can be dirty, chemicals from lotions could cause damage and wear and much more...

Good for egypt, just not sure if that's so good for the artifacts, but it's their treasures not ours..
