The whole point of latkes is that they are fried in oil--it is reminiscent of the oil that lasted for eight days in the temple. I make a similar recipe for raw latkes, but I use a few tablespoons of organic olive oil to make them more authentic. All my friends said they would gladly renounce their ima's latkes for my guilt-free version. Toda raba.

Woah! Great to see you two somewhere I have been! I live in Monroeville, which is just about 20 minutes to the stadium.
Great videos too!

I can debate with you all day, but its not my goal to prove who is right or wrong for arguments sake. I'm merely trying to reach the truth. Most people will walk away in arrogance and remain in their belief regardless of how incorrect they were. Therefore, I leave most off now.

@ScopedOUT2 - Whether at any particular instance meat was needed in order to not die from starvation is not relevant to any other time. We currently don't "need" meat (or animal products) to survive and on the contrary, in the long term, it has the tendency to cause ill-health to most (which you are free to debate).
My point was to sarcastically question your notion that there is a "proper" way to slaughter anything that serves no purpose other than to cause suffering.

So whats you're point? We can't eat meat? Don't you know that you wouldn't be here if your fathers didn't eat meat to survive? Stop being an extremist and acting like slaughtering meat is the worst crime man can commit.

Nice vid but the title shouldn't be "A Raw Food Recipe for Potato Pancakes" when the recipe isn't even given without having to go to someone's website and sign up for something. That's kinda um, ... shitty.
Thanks anyway.

@ScopedOUT2 - great idea. I think if serial killers "properly murdered" their victims as well, we could avoid prosecuting them and give our court systems a needed rest. It's surely all about doing it the "proper" way.

If certain meats were avoided, and those which are good to consume were properly slaughtered, I don't see why we shouldn't eat them. If we want to argue eating raw food, then we are sure that early humans ate raw food.
To me almost any diet is ok as long as its not eaten exclusively. Maybe going vegan is a bit extreme.

@Scoped OUT2: You are right, some foods are not healthy when eaten raw. But you can easily avoid them, and eat raw every day. And as far as "recently", what you said was correct: humans have been cooking their food for a few thousand years. That is fairly "recent," in terms of how long we've been around. People started cooking meat because our bodies can't handle it raw. It then spread to cooking all other food, from what I've read. BUT- I wasn't there, so I really don't know 100% for sure :)

scoped, what exactly is dangerous about fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds?
and that's not true about the tomatoes and cooking ... it was an idea pushed in advertising processed tomato products like ketchup, but all reputable testing says the nutrition (such as lycopene) is severely degraded by cooking (google it) ...
I love the show, and both hosts are very likeable, but Kevin is so annoying sometimes. Would it kill him to open with "This is Kevin AND Annmarie from the renegade health show." Sheesh, she's the best part of the show.
