According to experts, cyber-bullying is becoming increasingly common all over the world and it is no different in Singapore, where over 70 percent of students have access to the internet at home.
Cyber-bullying is when someone repeatedly makes fun of another person online or repeatedly picks on another person through emails or text messages, or uses online forums and postings online intended to harm, damage, humiliate or isolate another person that they dont like. The perpetuator hides behind a screen and say things that they do not normally say to the victims face.
In the recent years, there have been many reports of cyber-bullying in schools. The Education Ministry said it advises schools to build a strong cyber-wellness culture which overs cyber-bullying.
