Everything works fine.
I checked that I could get the VLC with local ip in browser (4:08)
But I can't get the remote from the android to work.
I tried "127.0.0.1:8080/ " " Myip:8080 " "192.xxx"
Still won't work.

I have the same problem.
Here it says "Acsess denied" (The box in dutch, your talking about)
I tried to save as a new file but it wouldn't work.
And none of the adresses in VLC hosts file is my ip.

Does anybody know why? ( I'm admin at my computer)
and I remoted the # front of the 192. IP

@Notme8 in the .hosts file that comes with VLC, it has a list of networks to allow the web interface to connect to (networks, as in range of IP address; all of the devices on my LAN have a local IP address that starts with 192.168.x.x that are assigned by my router) the hosts file has some common network addresses in the file, but they are commented out by a # , so that they are not read by the program (commenting in common in programming) , so to give my cell access i del the # and save

Thanks a lot for posting this video! I have a quick question regarding streaming. I followed all of your advice and it worked great! However, when I quit VLC and repoened it, when I went to localhost:8080 to test it started downloading the stream rather than playing it in VLC. I was wondering if you might know what causes this, or how to stop it.

@jrosemanonline hmm... never had that problem , try going to Tools>Settings (All Settings) > Interface, or Streaming video.. you might try changing something there
