The Palestinian City of Salfit in the West Bank is affected by the sewage which flows from the neighbouring Israeli Settlement of Ariel. This waste includes industrial and chemical residues from the industrial area of the Settlement. This impacts on the quality of the agricultural land in the surrounding area. The Ariel Municipality has refused to build a treatment plant to purify the effluent.

  • @PeaceForMidEast according to international law if a country's defense wins a war the country deserves the winnings. dont start with international law with me.

  • I don't believe that Israel dumps raw sewage into land which is held to be sacred. I just read an article from a major news outlet that Israel has the most advance sewage recycling infrastructure in the world, and countries like China are installing this Israeli sewage technology. We don't care about the Palestinians, which can be seen as bad, or can be seen as: we could care less about contriving some scheme to poison their tomatoes. I have read that the PA has destroyed the water table there.

  • @PeaceForMidEast The settlements certainly do not foster a constructive arena for negotiations. However, they are not as intractable a problem as they are made out to be. Settlements can be dismantled or abandoned and land can be swapped. The settlement building needs to stop, but this doesn't have to be a deal breaker.

  • @PeaceForMidEast international law can suck israel's dick

the west bank is jewish land

  • Why are these illegal Jews-only Israeli settlements given priority when it comes to economic, environmental, and social issues? Under international law, these settlements are illegal. So why are they there if not to satisfy and fulfill Israel's expansionist agenda?

  • @rencrow Sure, you got it all right! :)

  • LOL, pals are drinking Israel's piss :p good for them :]
