If by some chance you were able to keep riding for a full hour at that rate, you'd generate 0.2 kilowatts of electricity or about 2 cents an hour.

Thats a great idea but how long do you have to pedal to get some noticeable results battery charge wise and how much do you and can you run off of that power. You would obviously be in fantastic shape if it took you longer than a half hour a day.

This is soo awesome! I have two exercise machines I want to use to sell power back to the grid, do you think this would be possible? Do you have any internet sources for me that explains how i can (safely) accomplish this?

@SorroHelps Thanks for the comment. It's more fun exercising when you are saving money on electricity.
Im going to try the same thing to a recumbent exercise bike but I have no education for this kind of thing. What kind of motor/generator do you recommend I use? The recumbent I have is geared for speed so I was thinking of using magnets on the heavy steel flywheel to generate power but after a little research I don't think it will generate enough power to make it worth my while.
