  • oi u probally wont believe me but my mate has a pet jack and his converterd it 2 freshwater

  • I sure do believe ya mate. Caught them in Cape York in totally fresh water and theyre stocking them in Lake Awonga also. Local Barra guide Johny Mitchel has caught a couple now. I think some of his footage is on youtube also. With a maximum growth potential of 20kg, theyre going to be bloody hard to stop at that size.

  • what river are you fishing at ??

    thanks for the tips

  • Not to be specific, one of many in this area that hold great numbers of Jacks mate. Some of the smaller lesser known creeks offer the best fishing put it that way. I dont really promote my spots mate, just the techniques that work for me. No doubt sounds silly to some but I love being able to be at a spot that very few people visit. Look for creeks with an average of 1 to 3m at low tide and thatll put you in with a great chance. Throw in some rocks and fallen trees and your away.

  • 200+$ aquarium fish got one myself great tank fish very aggressive.

  • @MrRshelp4u I use both live and lure . as I been getting a few on lures these days I find it 100% more rewarding. an alot of fun.just my opinion

  • i go after jacks using live poddy mullet its the best method in my opinion

  • @BarefootFish pimpama river

  • some fish can make the transition, especialy bull sharks, they have been caught inland, miles from salt water, something to think about.

  • @kgauc2 yep they can live in freshwater just as well as salt in fact they actually breed in the fresh water. were i live (mossman) we go up in the freshwater to catch the big ones when they are coming back from breeding. U can sustain jacks in pure fresh water but it is also good to put a cup of salt in there every now and then to keep the healthy

  • @aus2045 So are you saying that you can't catch fish once outside of your local areas. Yes brisbane and the goldy and the tweed all have great jack but perhaps you need to change tactics for different areas.

  • @BARRA73 I used to live at Toorbul, and I would catch 10-12 jacks a year in my area, then on trips to the Nerang and Tweed would would always tag 6-10 per year

  • @aus2045 Mate no offence if you can't catch one in Yeppoon you have no chance in Brisbane. I live in Gladstone and there in every estuary system here. If you believe there are no fish in Yeppoon you must be hopeless.

  • I cant wait tp move to Brisbane to catch all those Jacks you have down there. I live near Yeppoon, and there are no fish here at all.
