STILL UNDECIDED?

1. There was an entertaining and insightful 'Lisbon Special Debate' (which was, dare I say, significantly more insightful then the one posted here) on the Pat Kenny radio show on the 29th September, set in and around the bustling atmosphere of Arnotts on Henry Street, Dublin.

The link is below:

http://www.rte.ie/radio1/todaywithpatkenny/

In attendance were Minister Micheál Martin, Libertas' Declan Ganley, Sinn Féin's Mary Lou McDonald, MEP Mairead McGuinness, MEP Joe Higgins, former President of the European Parliament Pat Cox, Coir's Manus McMenamin, Olive Braiden of Women for Europe, musician Jim Corr, ex-Irish rugby international Denis Hickie, artist Robert Ballagh, Labour TD Pat Rabitte, politician Patricia McKenna, journalist Eamon Dunphy, MEP Jan Peter Bonde, businessman Bill Cullen, Farmers for No representative James Reynolds and IFA President Padraig Walshe.

2. The current issue of Village Magazine (issue 6 - Spetember issue), the magazine created by journalist and 'no time for BS/grumpy old sod' Vincent Browne. It contains a number of balanced articles on the Lisbon Treaty, as well as a 16 page special pamphlet arguing for YES and NO sides individually (Yes side written by Donal Barrington and No side written by Joe Higgins)

3. In keeping with Vincent Browne, there will also be a discussion on the Lisbon Treaty on 'Tonight with Vincent Browne', on Wednesday the 30th September on TV3 at 11.05pm. This is my own opinion only, but I think it will be worth watching if you are an undecided voter.

4. There is a debate available between Proinsias De Rossa and Joe Higgins, which forgoes much of the bluster and grandstanding of this debate (its not as loud anyway), and can be found at the following link:

  • Who you goin a trust, well it looks like your goin have to trust tony blair by looks of things, the new president of the federal europe. They kept that one outta of the spotlight till it was all over. I have no regrets, i voted NO, i can look fellow europeans in face in the knowledge that i did'nt betray them, by inadvertently electing the corrupted power brokers like murdoch's man into power

  • Im baffled at why we didn't get to vote again? Does anyone know why? .....Ah yes we got it right the second time,I see now.How silly of me.

GO FUCK YOURSELVES ANTI EU LUNATICS!

  • Yeah fuckin gobshite, reading the propaganda, blair is murdochs man, he doesn't need to back someone in britain anymore as he has his main man in the top office in brussels now, he might aswell support cameron but he's goin to be answerable to blair in brussels. Eu picked the right place to hold a referendum if they can get gobshite like you to bend over backwards for em, no one else in europe back it only a dickhead like yourself. ye gave into scumbag bernasconi, scarkozy's sellout, nobhead

  • Murdoch?

Murdoch's media machine is anti-EU and anti-Lisbon. It is now supporting the Tories in Britain.

You and your fellow loons can now respect the voice of the Irish people.

    YEEEESSSSSSS!!!!!

  • The media are bias.

Vote no to save Ireland. No to more power to the elite.

  • YES vote = no way back, we can't undo mistakes made in the treaty or the EU, our say in EU is halved. Some countries say is doubled.

NO vote = we are still in the EU, like we are now, and the EU must be more accountable to the people of Europe. It stops the runaway power of the EU parliament and its gravy train expenses.

The mature thing is to stand up and tell EU to correct the problems, not to give in to the accusing tut-tutting of EU politicians trying to tell us we should be embarrassed.
