Boris Karloff seen in one of his last great roles as a psychiatrist who has found a method (including some very 60's looking machinery) of sharing another person's experiences and even controlling their actions. It all goes horrible wrong, of course, as his wife starts to take over their subject. Karloff, as you can see for yourself here, is magnificent, and so is Catherine Lacey as his wife. Ian Ogilvy is their handsome young subject whose life falls apart as the old couple takes over his mind. It's an uneven film, directed by Michael Reeves who later made Witchfinder General, lots of 60's London atmosphere, a bit like Peeping Tom or Blow-Up. Karloff is a joy, and his performance foreshadows his brilliant "Byron Orlok" in Targets a couple of years later.
