that 191 is called WHP (wheel horse power) and yes 250 is a crank horse power..
-

Does nobody understand the difference between flywheel and wheel horse power? If these A6's are rated at 230hp(flywheel), 191 would be very good actually. Most AWD's have a parasitic loss of 25% or more.

It is 250 its just whp
-
you dumbasses.... its 191 at the wheels for him, but 250 at the crank..........
-
yea this model has only 230hp because mine is an 2001 an it comes 240 jus ten more hp but i modded mine wit an upgrade turbo an headers so those 240 jus got moved up to 320 hp an still trying to fix it jus need some money lol
-
thats pathetic, the skyline gtr with a 100cc smaller engine has 320bhp stock, and easily tuned to 400 with not much mods, so why is the power so low? i was shocked, i thought it would be somewhere up to 300 at least.

Year 2000 Audi 2.7 Bi-Turbo has 250 BHP and 350 NM of torque stock. A stage 1 remapping increases the figures to around 280 BHP and 440 NM. Obviously it's the torque that makes the real difference.

191 at the wheels thats more at the engine

250 hp from the motor, gets lots in all the mechanics, to 190ish at the wheels, also less hp over time.
-
I think it's the power on the wheels. Not the engine output itself. You lose a power at your gearbox and at several consumers as ac-compressor and lighting dynamo. Of course there is a little difference between the data of the producer and the real power but usually it's around +- 11HP. 60HP would be a lot, don't you think?
-
best rule is with AWD take stock hp (250) divided by 1.28 which brings about 195WHP. since there is 27-28% loss in hp from fly to wheels. like 265bhp=207whp

The twin turbo V6 is rated at 250hp to the crank. When you have an automatic and 4 wheel drive you loose 20% power. So it's actually very close to what it should be :)
