Mosin/Nagant

I test out my new rifle. It is a 1944 Mosin/Nagant with bayonet. First time using it. Bought for $150. Found out later from local gunsmith that they are prone to have their bolt get stuck and jam.

Should have bought the Garand instead...

They get jammed because the metal is so thin, that it gets very hot, very fast. I have never had any problems. But the barrel does get quite hot after 3-5 rounds. Mine is a 1928 Tula Hex.. got it for 89 dolars with all the accessories.

youre going to pay a lot more for a real M1 Garand. the mosin would have been better had it not been stored in cosmoline(how ever thats what preserved it) a little proper cleaning and that sticking bolt is normally a thing of the past otherwise polish it.

GunFlame454: I learned how to make my Mosin run smooth as silk,watching videos by Iraqveteran8888,and Marshallzukov.you have to remember,before YOU bought that rifle,cozmoline sat in that chamber,and bore,for more that 60yrs...during that time,it gets caked in that chamber pretty hard,where the round,comes in contact with the headspace.Use a good solvent and a bore brush,put the brush on the end cleaning rod clamped into a drill rotate slow using solvent,then clean your bolt

@21stcenturyfilmdocs I put about 400 er so rpuns through my garand, i actully havent had any jams at all. except one time it didn't eject the clip all the way out, i just plucked it out and reloded.

yea my friend sais that happens to me to because if the cosmoleum build up. i still gotta fix mine to.

Well, a Garand will set you back 4 times as much. Actually, these guns really only jam because they have a mountain of cosmoleum still in them. Iraqveteran333 (I think) has a very easy way to clean out the chamber well enough so that you can keep the jamming to a minimum.
