This is the first 7 minutes of a 13 minute sound poetry performance given at the 1/4 inch series of concerts on 22 Sept 2009 at the University of Wollongong. This piece was first performed at the Make It Up Club in Melbourne on 8 Sept 2009. In this piece I'm reading my email, but the email is being chopped up in real time by the ancient DOS word cut-up program Babble. I have to instantly read the output of the program and devise an interesting dramatic way to present the words. Which I then modify with the computer. I've got a Korg NanoKontrol, a tiny box of sliders and buttons, which I use to select a bunch of sound modifications and musical accompaniments for my performing. Sort of a one-man band of music and voice modification and sound poetry performance. Thanks to Aaron Hull, the curator of 1/4 inch, for having me on the series. Thanks to Catherine Schieve for videoing the performance.
