She first was hiding in her web for like 4 minutes and then this all happened. Spider info: 4" female Pterinochilus murinus
Common names :
orange baboon tarantula
orange bitey thing
starburst baboon tarantula
Im lucky that my specimen is not defensive at all, just lightening fast...if it wasnt a smooth bathtub surface, she would definitively be gone in split of a second.

  • im getting one this week.... my body is ready

  • @skelatonman good luck!

  • EEK, I have a juvenile OBT and it never fails to amaze me how quick they are. I love the idea of doing what needs done in the bath, the foiler of spiders everywhere.

  • @alocheeky Ow, i didnt even realise that, seems a bit ironic and she must have known it. Thats probably why she was so scared, she thought her life is gonna end. I would never allow that to happen though. :D

  • Q) What do Polar Bears and Tarantulas have in common?

    A) Nothing at all, why have you got a toy one in with it lol.

  • @krisiles1983 Well these species is known to build their web structures on whatever is in their cage. My idea was to get the bear all webbed up and it worked out great. I can link to some updated pics if you are interested.

  • The P.murinus never ceases to give someone a borderline coronary lol... Mine will attack its own shadow if it is possible for them to recoginize a shadow. :)

  • dayummm..............that's really scary....

  • LOL! That's what I figured out after watching the whole video! I'll remember this fact when I go to rehouse my little GBB - he's lightning quick, now that he has all his legs!

  • @kjminniti i did, the problem was that i had to use 2 hands to get her out of her web, and as you see she likes to run in circles and upwards. I tried the method you suggested when i got her to house her in that bucket and it all ended up with her running all over me
