8mm footage of the original VK3AML
station including installing top hat on the
tower,Tony "The Branch" in the booth and
various equipment and the transmitter.
Tony died in 2006 and the call vk3aml
is now held by his old friend Chris Long.

  • From the PRESENT VK3AML: I spent so much of my youth in the locale of this film. A nice collection of friendly ghosts - Branch, Ash, Dan... the wooden box 'corders and the best damn A.M. transmitter ever heard on 160 metres! Mind you, it was limited by the usage of a 6/40 in the PA at this time. The date would have been 1971-72 by the way, NOT 1969 - that's too early... I must digitise my pre-1975 recordings and add them to Dave's cache...
