Lexi rubbed her eyes and stretched as she woke up she walked downstairs to fix her and Ellie some breakfast. Loading up the toaster with some waffles, Lexi walked to the door and opened it to go check the mail. As she took her first step on the Welcome mat she heard a crunch. Curiously looking down, she saw a dozen roses with a note on it. Lexi bent down to pick it up, biting on her lower lip.

Lexi-- [goes back inside and puts the flowers in a vase then reads the note:

Lexi,
I'm sorry for everything I did. Meet me at the park tonight at midnight.

Lexi-- [sighs and puts the note on the counter and takes the waffles out the toaster and put them on a plate; goes back upstairs and wakes up Ellie and brings her downstairs] Ellie want a waffle?

Ellie- Yeah. [sits at the table]

Lexi- [gives her her waffles and sits down]

Ellie- Mommy?

Lexi- yes? [re-reading Peyton's note]

Ellie- There was a big yellow book on your desk and it was open, do you need
it? [plays with her food]

Lexi- [thinks of her mom] Yes! Thank you! [goes upstairs and calls her mom] Hello? Mom?
