What many consider the heart and soul of Sugarhouse will be demolished and rebuilt adding condos and more attractive retail space; which may end up substituting local culture and charm for chain stores and yuppies. Visit UtahStories.com for more.
All that fiat money in the fractional banking system has provided the funding to cannibalize what is real and replace it with what is sterile and illusory.
Soren Simonson tried valiently to keep Sugarhouse alive, but the fuddie duddies remaining on the council voted for owners rights even though he is a super dumb blind dork to his impact on the character of Sugarhouse. Hopefully lessons were learned.
Yes in a way I am glad its failing! This will inure fines on him causing him to lose the area and have someone else come along who really does have the money to go through with it. For one the streets will need a complete redo to handle the traffic.
Wait so you are saying that you are glad this project is failing? So at this point now that the buildings are torn down it's better to just have a big hole in the ground vs having this development? Is that what you are saying?
Right it's much better to have a hole in the ground then to have a mix-use project with condos, office space and ground level retail. Yea that makes alot of sense.
Do your homework, this development will be nothing like the gateway. The only people I ever see at sugarhouse are hippies that are high. And I don't call those REAL people. I call those people who need to get jobs.
I don't think you people know what you are talking about. Infact I bet you are hippies and are high.
Yes it is called growth since we live in one of the top fastest cities in the country. With growth comes development. Those buildings were old and worn down to a point that they wasn't safe anymore. These developers know they can get alot more out of building a midrise vs just building another single story building.
However this development so far has turn out to be a disappointment.
ya...screw the assholes who took such a treasure away from Salt Lake!
