As an artist, Turrell doesn't "owe" anyone for the genesis of his concepts. To understand the words "fine art" you must first understand that it is "personal art" not commercial, not for hire, nor can anyone pidgeon-hole one man, nobody can imagine his youth and growth but himself. Turrell flew with his father in planes and has a intellect guided by architecture, light, physics and scientific phenomena. His work borders science, metaphysics, architecture, and all sorts of influences. He's unique

@cynicron NetFlix offers a 30 minute DVD. Search: James Turrell Also, one should search images of "kivi" and test information also, all available on the web. In viewing the Hopi indian kivas, both old and restored, one understands the heritage and legend to which Turrell owes much of his concepts.

Could someone please translate what James is saying? At times I can't understand him past the translator's voice! I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!
