Yep martins are the best! D-18's on up. Santa cruzes, collings ect are nice but there boutique and will not be around 30 years from now. You can bet martin will. As far as value going up on the collings, santa cruzes, maybe a tad but who knows. But your safe with your high end martins for sure. Martins are supreme and the others are just building off what martin created over a hundred years ago. stick with the original!! As far as machinery goes who gives a shit!

@DavidSomerset007 How do feel about owning a Collings? You thought you purchased a hand built guitar. This is how hand built Collings is. Collings uses bolt on necks. Collings brags and Collings owners brag on how much better they are then Martin. They brag to the fact they are hand built, and Martin is massed produced. LOL What a joke. I'll keep my Martins and there MT and DT carved necks.

Why all the comments about the price of Martins? I guess so many Americans are used to the cheap crap at Walmart, that they don't even know what they are looking at when they see a masterpiece that has been crafted by true artists and craftsmen.

why spend $109,000 on a guitar when a guiar that looks practiically identical can be had for $800??

I've got a Martin OM21 Special and I LOVE IT!!! I've had it nearly 2 years now and I just can't stop playing it. It's like the Pied Piper. Every time I see it, whatever I'm doing, before I know it I'm playing..

Walela, you have no idea what you're talking about. There is NO Chinese Martin factory. The Mexican Martins are much cheaper than those from Nazareth for obvious reasons. I've been to the factory several times, and I've loved Martin guitars since the '60s.
You need to get off your sorry butt and go to Pa. and see the factory.
i love my martin, best sounding guitar i have ever owned or played

@MrXAVIERDB First, nobody should take financial advice from YouTube.
Since you're an expert, please explain why it's mostly large corporations who own Stradivarius violins? Rare/expensive instruments are no more wasteful than paying a million bucks for an original Van Gogh.
If the insurance companies are willing to insure a Martin D100 for $109K, then maybe they need to get a life.
I spent $2700 on a Collings, and It'll only increase in value...And it makes me smile, unlike my 401K.
