I saw CSNY the night Nixon resigned. Graham Nash had said early on that they were monitoring events backstage. At some point, Nash came to the mic and, after asking for attention, announced that "the President of the United States, Richard Milhous Nixon, has just resigned..." The place went absolutely bat shit. Truly. Like nothing I've ever seen. And Nash is now yelling over the mic "...and in the face of such adversity, we must carry on!" They then broke into a half-hour version of this song.
