  • Thanks, where can I get a Bios update for the DV6000?

it's not on the HP product page for it?

  • @unclepoo you will have to source a local outlet for it, or look for an online store that sells spares for laptops. As laptop bios chips are usually soldered on to the board and unless you are confident of doing this repair then i suggest you take it/send it to a local repair shop to be replaced. Remember google is your friend ;)

  • Hey, so we need to disconnect the red cable?, I did a bad update and now it dosent start, is possible to re-format the bios or need to change the chip?. Thanks

  • @djjor3l the bios chip cannot be formatted, when a bios update is done you should keep a backup on a disk or usb drive just in case of this. however if you havn't done this then i'm afraid you will need a new bios chip. There not very expensive but use the correct tool and be careful.
