I had a psych. eval also. and it was so ridiculous. The doctor wanted me to explain to him the entire surgical procedure as I understood it, including "first they put me to sleep using medications and put a tube in my throat to take over my breathing because the drugs are paralytics..." etc etc....

At the end, I said, this is how I know it but I didn't go to medical school, so I may have some of the more technical aspects wrong!

Then he said, good! you're a go! and I'm like, huh?

I remember when my NUT asked me why I thought I was overweight and I said 'um, because I eat. A Lot.' and she was sort of surprised that I understood basic calories-in-calories-out math. Sheesh. Glad you have one more step behind you though!!

Yeah....I guess they figure that all we do is eat Ho-hos and oreos.....not that I don;t .....lol.....but I can do the right thing with a little help!

That would be scary walking in to a unit like that. Glad they signed off, so that was a good thing. I am a new sub and I am soo glad I am. You are great. I am 4 weeks pos op from the lap band. Can not wait till you are post op. You will do awesome.

I'm sorry that your psych evaluation wasn't that great of an experience, but I'm called they cleared you for surgery!!! I hope that the rest of your appointments run a lot smoother! :D Amy

i think that the psych eval is a good thing, personally. The post op phase of this journey is so intense and so fast and you go thru so many highs and lows.... you really want everyone to be prepared especially for the lows.
