Diddy Kong Racing Walkthrough Pt 53: Vs. Wizpig (1st time)

Finally we've made it to Wizpig. This guy is not easy. In fact, this is probably the hardest boss race in the game. You're on a fairly difficult course, in your kart, and raining is pelting down. Wizpig is faster than you throughout the entire race. The only way you can win is to get green boosts off of each Zipper, and you cannot miss a single one. I also highly recommend Tiptup or Pipsy. Banjo can actually work perfectly here thanks to his great top speed, however his turning is just so weak, Tiptup is better.

Get a super boost at the start. Wizpig will either pass you or kick you. If he kicks you, you'll be jolted forward. Wizpig will not flatten you if he steps on you, but it will stop your vehicle completely. About half way to 3/4 of the way through, you'll be face with a short path surrounded by water. There are many Zippers here that will propel you closer and closer to, eventually, ahead of Wizpig. You really need to be leading him when the third lap begins. If you are far behind, restart. If you fall into water at any time, restart. If you cannot see Wizpig ahead of you, restart.

This usually is a fairly close race up until the final few moments in the third lap, when you should be able to take a commanding lead. Beating Wizpig will let a cut scene begin which will introduce you to the last quarter of the game. It ain't over yet! The credits will roll too.

where did you get the 39th baloon? i beated the game but i only have 38 and cause of that i can't acces the first level of the 5th world

@fearmaster129 You must be missing one of the 4 that are found in the overworld.

@hondannyboy The bigger ones like Crunch and Banjo are bit slower, but much better to control in Water Courses in the hover. Medium characters like Conker are a mix of both.

@HooFbauer Tiptup, Pipsy and Diddy have the best handling. The other ones turning is pretty shitty and I guess they are slower because they are bigger.

I always choose Tiptup and I didn't even know there were differences between the characters :D
