  • Do you eat both of the poptarts or just 1? cuz there's two in there. Also after working out you know how you usually have to drink a protein shake immediately after a work out? Well, do you do that or do you save the protein shake until it's time to eat the pop-tart and drink the shake with it? Or do you have to do both as in drink the protein shake immediately after a work out, then when it's time to eat the pop-tarts you consume ANOTHER protein shake?

  • @xBboyRewindx I eat both...:) cause I am a big guy and need the massive carb influx. I never drink a shake right after training because spiking insulin during or after workouts shuts down the exercise induced IGF-1 production which is responsible for all muscle building properties of growth hormone. That's not good!

  • Is the honey a good alternative as a simple carb resource? Pop Tart tastes good but i suppose that honey is much more healthy.

  • @Serb1anArchangel You gotta eat a lot of honey to get the needed carbs for recovery. Plus, eating healthy has nothing to do with fat loss. Lots of people eat healthy and lose weight (muscle) but not fat. Now I am not saying eat everything that is sweet and 'bad' for ya, BUT I am saying eating sweets at the right time will help you lose fat. Gotta change the paradigm of losing fat into understanding hormones. Plus, if you are going to eat sweets, why not make it help ya?

  • @njlaserdoctor Thanks for the qucik reply doc. I really appreciate your time and effort to help us out. Now it is clear for me what and when to eat after workout. What's not clear is what and when to eat before workout? Is the pre workout meal also important?

  • @Serb1anArchangel YES it sure is. It's all important when you are talking nutrition. But again that meal depends on a few things..when are you working out, how long is the workout, what is the workout, what is your goal of the workout. All these factors make a difference.

  • Pop Tarts are amazing

    cherry frosted ones.

  • @njilaserdoctor what about hydrogenated oil and trans fats ?

  • I cannot believe all these dumb questions posted below. OMG.. HFCS.... TRANSFAT!! OMG OMG

I bet all of you are fat.

  • Although pop tarts will aid in the insulin spiking, I believe that its ingredients are far too devastating to override the benefits. (High fructose corn syrup, partially hydrogenated soybean oil (raises cholesterol and triglycerides, trans fats).

  • What do you think of the risk of becoming insuling resistant by using this tactic regularly ??? I think this is a serious issue that you should adress ! Thank you :)

  • You say in a post that you never drink a shake after workout as this spikes insulin but in your video you say the opposite and eat pop tart and have a protein shake ,please clarify.

  • @njlaserdoctor This has probably been mentioned already but why are you advising people to eat food with transfat? That's probably the last thing you want to eat in a healthy diet

  • @njlaserdoctor why if I am doing 50mg of IGF-1 R3 Long after each workout?

  • Hey doctor your videos are awesome and very informative please keep on making more videos. Can u please clarify this, so after i workout i dont take my protein shake immediately?! Do i take it along with my pop tarts? If u can clarify it for me that would be nice. Thank you!
