@arkee71 I love this song and hope to learn and hear more from Jim. And I'm glad you shared this about your grandma here!

@arkee71 I'm really sad to hear about your grandmother's passing. There's no doubt in my mind she was a great person. My family is from Arkansas too, and actually I lost my grandma about five years ago. I had started getting a lot closer to her as I got older and I'm glad. I found out she used to play baseball with her kids on the farm! I had no idea, lol! Well, I know it's hard to loose someone- nobody ever handles it well, so you're not alone there.

The first time I heard Jim Ed Brown I was working second shift at an aerospace factory in California. We used to hang at the county bars after midnight. It was lots of fun in the day.

@70sgirly Isn't it something how we have such strong memories connected with certain songs? And your memory of hanging out at the county bars seems to synch up right with the theme of this song! For me, even though I just learned of this song a few years ago, it reminds me of times when my folks would take us on these long car rides through Wisconsin- lots of country scenery- and they'd have a country station playing on the radio. Those were good times! Thanks for your words here!
