Jim Ed Brown with a classic that deservedly became a hit. For everyone with a broken heart who has ever sat in a bar killing time, dreading the moment when you realize you have to eventually go home to an empty house, here's the perfect bar stool sitter's song.

What a great classic country sound- the tempo is relaxed and still you'll find you have a hard time keeping still. An excellent music track that is the perfect compliment for that smoother-than-smooth voice of Jim's.

  • jim ed said the can opening sound was a dr pepper instead of a beer.

  • @dizzypilots1 now that's a fun bit of trivia!

  • The first time I heard Jim Ed Brown I was working second shift at an aerospace factory in California. We used to hang at the county bars after midnight. It was lots of fun in the day.

  • @70sgirly Isn't it something how we have such strong memories connected with certain songs? And your memory of hanging out at the county bars seems to synch up right with the theme of this song! For me, even though I just learned of this song a few years ago, it reminds me of times when my folks would take us on these long car rides through Wisconsin- lots of country scenery- and they'd have a country station playing on the radio. Those were good times! Thanks for your words here!

  • @tomovox thanx

  • @arkee71 I love this song and hope to learn and hear more from Jim. And I'm glad you shared this about your grandma here!

  • @arkee71 I'm really sad to hear about your grandmother's passing. There's no doubt in my mind she was a great person. My family is from Arkansas too, and actually I lost my grandma about five years ago. I had started getting a lot closer to her as I got older and I'm glad. I found out she used to play baseball with her kids on the farm! I had no idea, lol! Well, I know it's hard to loose someone- nobody ever handles it well, so you're not alone there.

  • @tomovox yeh its totally true...im from south arkansas...and she was extremely beautiful in her youth....she passed away 2 yrs ago...and i felt like someone tore me in half...i didnt handle it very well at all...but time has helped...i was very close with my grandma...and as far as i know this story is 100% true...anyway hes a great talent

  • @mrsbelcher1987 I'm completely with you on that point!

  • @arkee71 wow! now that is very cool!
