Visualization of how poi unit circle driving styles relate, with linear motions as the boundaries. To clarify, the hand-paths are all 2D in plane. I am just animation the collapsing and expanding between unit circle and linear hand-paths... Some people saw it as rotating the hand path in 3D space, which it is not... although that is a cool idea to explore as well.
Disclaimer: the horizontal trammel and (to a slightly lesser degree) horizontal cateye are very challenging to spin cleanly. So don't beat yourself up over it if you have a hard time with it. Here are examples of the vertical versions (which also appear in this vid):

bit of random geek theory for ya:
what if the hand motion was in antispin shape, using multiples of petals?
what about if you use multiple patterns within one larger pattern (some of these are described in hybrid theory anyway, but i'm interested to see what effect they have on your unit circle simulator)
have you thought about creating straight lines with the poi head, not just the handle? I have pages and pages on point isolation and line isolation theory which might interest you....
