Inside a deluxe sleeper on a City Night Line overnight train from Amsterdam to Munich.

Similar sleepers run from Amsterdam to Prague, Copenhagen and Zurich; and from Paris to Munich, Hamburg & Berlin.

  • There is plenty of baggage space in the recess above the door. My wife's and my own backpack-sized bags fit easily with space to spare. There are straps to secure larger bags if they project beyond the space.

  • This compartment is WAY better then the night train from Paris to Rome.

  • "Plenty of suitcase space above the door" is a shameless misinformation. A standard suitcase does not fit there. Note - the small pillow takes half of the space. Same about the shelf above the bathroom. We ended up with two suitcases on the floor, not being able to sit normally (had to sit cross-legged on the couch until going to sleep)

  • Would this be the style compartment (T1/2/3) on an Amsterdam to Berlin night train?

  • it seems that these trains only travel east, not west :)
